I’ve had my blog now for about 3 months. I update it pretty frequently, and it’s an amazing asset. Whenever I meet people, I often hear them say, “Oh, WOW I KNOW YOU! I SAW YOUR BLOG!” Or, other people who haven’t yet met me will say, “HEY, I READ YOUR BLOG! LETS MEET UP!” And every time this happens, I’m finding amazing value as a result of having a blog that I keep tabs on.

Many people look at having a blog as having an additional chore to take care of. Many may feel that having a blog is a total waste of time if one has no plans of monetizing from it. While this is immediately true, having a blog won’t only help you meet people, but it’ll make people feel more comfortable with you. In every one of my emails, I have the link to my blog in my signature. People who don’t know me often look at the blog by way of email signature, see how personal I am, and then decide that I’m someone worth replying to. This really helps!

In the world of business and startups, every idea sounds the same. Every entrepreneur is trying to make a lame web 2.0 company that’s bound to fail. By having a blog, you’re adding personal taste. You show off your opinion to the world of business and the places you’ve been, and potential cofounders/staff will look at you in a positive light. Matter of fact, my co-founder knows so much about me and was heavily influenced to work with me and my company, all thanks to my blog.

The moral of my post is, have a blog and you may see some amazing benefits that you previously haven’t thought of. Don’t put any ads on your blog and be upfront and honest with everything you say.
